BBC Controller, Mobile and online

Fiona Campbell is Controller of Mobile and Online, BBC News. Her teams work across the BBC News web site, APP and social media platforms.

The BBC has significantly invested in mobile news launching a vertical video product called Videos of the Day in the BBC News app, as well as the Reality Check fact checking product to contribute to the efforts to tackle fake news.

Fiona’s particular focus has been on audiences such as the under 25s, women and the less well off - groups who are under-represented in the BBC core news audiences.

She created BBC Stories, a cross BBC digital video product which targets these groups and has had significant success in reaching them.

She has also worked in the commercial sector as a Commissioning Editor at Channel 4 News.  Fiona was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and gained her Masters in International Affairs at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Bologna, Italy.
