Justin co-founded international consultancy The Format People in 2009 with Michel Rodrigue. Known in the industry as The Format Doctor, Justin is an expert consultant with broadcasters and production companies to diagnose and solve issues with their formats, and turn them into successful series that travel. 

Formats he has consulted on include medical game “Doctors vs. Internet” (NRK), 4 seasons to date, licensed to 12 territories, 'Best Studio-based Gameshow' winner at the International Formats Awards 2017; “Pablo” (BBC), the first animation series centered on a character on the autism spectrum, launched in 2017, S2 commissioned;  "Canada’s Smartest Person” (CBC), 3 seasons to date, winner at the Canadian Screen Awards; “Know-It-All” (Discovery), adapted in Sweden as “Genikampen”, 3 seasons to date; and international kids gameshow “Splatalot!”.

He also co-created song-writing competition “Sing My Song” (China/CCTV), 3 seasons to date, averaging 252 million viewers per season.

Justin also creates formats, including hit culinary gameshow "Chef In Your Ear" distributed by Warner Brothers and Bomanbridge, and adapted around the world including Canada, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, S. Korea, Mongolia, and Mexico. Justin leads master classes in format creation and development around the world.
